This sounds almost too good to be true. Anna Kendrick has not only proved she is vastly talented on the stage and screen, but has also shown herself to be quite a wit with her hilarious talk show appearances and Twitter quips—she recently made a call for more male nudity on Game of Thrones, which all women in America thank her for. Lucky for us, someone else took notice and now Kendrick will be penning a collection of funny essays published by Touchstone, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.
Touchstone publisher Susan Moldow called the Academy Award nominated Kendrick, "the rare entertainer whose impressive arsenal of talents is equally matched by her sharp wit and wry observations about life." The yet-to-be-titled book is slated for a fall 2016 release date and will look at "memorable moments throughout her life," says Moldow---from her New England childhood to her current days as a Hollywood star.
“I’m excited to publish my first book, and because I get uncomfortable when people have high expectations, I’d like to use this opportunity to showcase my ineptitude, pettiness, and the frequency with which I embarrass myself,” Kendrick said in a release.
“And while many of my female inspirations who have become authors are incredibly well-educated and accomplished comedy writers, I’m very, very funny on Twitter, according to BuzzFeed and my mom, so I feel like this is a great idea," she said. "Quick question: are run-on sentences still frowned upon? Wait, is ending a sentence with a preposition still frowned upon? I mean, upon frowned? Dammit!”
