We’re into the business end of this season’s Carabao Cup.
The four quarter-final ties will be played over the next couple of days, leaving us with the quartet of semi-finalists by Thursday morning.
On Tuesday evening, both Manchester United and Newcastle will hope to use their home advantage to progress to the semi-final against Charlton and Leicester respectively.

Then, on Wednesday, Nottingham Forest host Wolves with kick-off a quarter of an hour before Manchester City’s trip to Southampton.
When will the winners of those ties find out their semi-final opponent? The Athletic has all the details.
When is the Carabao Cup semi-final draw?
The semi-final draw will be made once all eight teams have played.
It will be done following the conclusion of Southampton vs Manchester City on Wednesday, January 11.
With that game kicking off at 8pm GMT (3pm EST, 12pm PT), the draw can be expected after 10pm GMT (5pm EST, 2pm PT).
Although, there is no danger of it being too late as there is no extra-time at this stage of the Carabao Cup. In the event of a draw after 90 minutes, the match is decided via a penalty shootout.

ESPN+ will show all four of the quarter-final ties over the next couple of days.
For anyone unable to watch the draw on TV, it will be broadcast on the official Carabao Cup Twitter account.
Mark Chapman will present the draw, as he also did for the FA Cup fourth round just a few days ago. He will be joined by Lionesses legend Jill Scott and former Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha.
What dates will the semi-final matches be played on?
Since the competition began in 1960, the semi-finals have always been two-legged ties — that is the case again this year.
The two first legs will be played on the week commencing January 23. One will likely be played on Tuesday, January 24 before the second a day later, on Wednesday, January 25.
There is just a week to wait for the second legs of both ties. The first semi-final will likely be decided on Tuesday, January 31 with the second being decided on Wednesday, February 1.

The first two quarter-final ties went largely as expected on Tuesday evening.
At Old Trafford, Manchester United were just too good for Charlton. Although, the League One side did put up a valiant fight against their Champions League-chasing opponents.
Antony opened the scoring halfway through the first half when he cut in from the right-hand side and bent an effort beyond Ashley Maynard-Brewer and into the corner of the net.
Marcus Rashford continued his fine run of form by putting an end to the tie in the 90th, and then 94th, minute to send Manchester United safely into the semi-final.

A first ever goal for the club for Dan Burn opened the scoring after a frustrating first half for the hosts before Joelinton was picked out brilliantly by Miguel Almiron to double his side’s lead.
Jamie Vardy — who was introduced from the bench — missed a golden opportunity to halve the deficit with quarter of an hour to go and Newcastle held on rather comfortably to make it into a first semi-final (of any competition) since 2005.
On Wednesday, all signs pointed to a comfortable victory for Manchester City at Southampton but the eventual result was very different.
Sekou Mara and Moussa Djenepo stunned the visitors in the first half with two excellent finishes. Nathan Jones’ struggling side were also brilliant defensively, not conceding a single shot on target to the Premier League champions.
The 2-0 defeat was Pep Guardiola’s first in a domestic quarter-final in his career.
In the other tie on Wednesday evening, Nottingham Forest and Wolves could not be separated after drawing 1-1 in regular time. Willy Boly opened the scoring against his former club before Raul Jimenez equalised in the second half.

The draw after 90 minutes sent the game to a penalty shootout where Dean Henderson starred for the hosts. He saved spot kicks from Ruben Neves and Joe Hodge as Nottingham Forest secured a semi-final place.
